Working with a young Christian or Seeker?
What a special and important opportunity it is to work with someone who is young in their faith journey and eager to learn and grow! If you are working with a new Christian or even someone who is still seeking to know the one, true God, here are some ideas for structured discussions related to spiritual growth:
- Real Zeal - This is a curriculum that offers weekly studies about what it means to live out the Christian faith. It includes additional suggested reading, some simple scripture memory, and a light amount of homework. Feel free to pick up a couple of Real Zeal books at church, download a PDF, or you can purchase RealZeal books online for $10 each. - Growing Up Together - This 24 session curriculum walks through the cycle of spiritual growth in a Christian's life. God plants seeds of truth in our hearts, He waters them through Community, we grow through serving others, and He produces a harvest through us as we share our faith with others. This cycle repeats itself as Christians faithfully go into the world to make disciples. Videos for each lesson are available HERE. Stop by the church to pick up a couple of workbooks, download a pdf at no cost, or you can also purchase Growing Up Together books online for $15 each. - Navigators.org has several great resources if you'd like to do more of a Bible Study or foundations course. They've been around for years and produce great material for discipleship. Check out their resources HERE.
- The Purple Book - This is another option for spiritual conversation. It's a short book for those who aren't big into reading. We have a few copies available at the church. Email pastortim@faithjanesville.org for more information.
