Coming alongside of someone going through a trial/crisis:

Sometimes life hits us hard and what we really need is someone to be present. We don’t need preaching, we don’t need a curriculum, we just need a friend. If you are meeting with someone who is going through a struggle or healing from some grief or pain, be sure to listen intently, take mental notes, and pray with them, but don't feel obligated to solve their problems. Follow up with them from time to time to encourage them along the way. Maybe you can take a look at our Resource Page to find a book to read together. You’ll need to discern if their needs run deeper than what you have to offer. You don’t have to be the hero and you don’t need to pretend that you are a counelor (unless you happen to be one!). Connect them to a support group, some good Christian counseling, or perhaps you might read a book together on a topic relevant to their needs.

  • Redeemed Christian Counseling- If you know someone who needs professional help, please have them reach out to Redeemed Christian Counseling. Their phone number is 608-295-4220
  • Talk to a pastor- Contact the church at 608-758-2850 if you would like to talk to a pastor at the church. Please allow a couple of days for a response. If it is an emergency, call 911.
  • DivorceCare-You don't have to go through it alone. Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. Click HERE for more info about DivorceCare.
  • Hope and Light- Hope & Light is a support group for individuals diagnosed with depression/ anxiety or another mental illness that includes those as symptoms. Get support and learn practical coping skills from leaders with lived experience as well as other group participants. Find out about Hope and Light.
  • Safe Interpersonal Relationships- SIR is designed to help us build healthy relationships, spiritually and emotionally, using Biblical Principles and Dialectical Behavior Skills. SIR teaches daily coping skills to help those who struggle with anxiety, anger, depression or other emotional health issues. For more information about SIR, please email pastortim@faithjanesville.org
  • Bridges for Justice- If you have concerns about sex-trafficking, we have a ministry in town to serve this need. Please visit Bridges4Justice for more information.
  • Sealed- For men dealing with sexual addiction or pornography, there is a place for you to find hope. Email pastortim@faithjanesville.org for more information.
  • Healed- Healed is a ministry for spouses struggling with a sexual addiction. Find encouragement from others who understand. Email:pastortim@faithjanesville.org for more info.
  • Safe Families- Got kids? Do you know that trusted friend, neighbor, or family member that you call when you need a little help? There are many families in our community who don't have a person like that. So what can they do when transportation or childcare needs arise? Who do they call if a health, financial, or some other crisis happens? Check out Safe Families to get support for people with kids.
  • Hannah's Cry- For women who have experienced the trauma of losing a child. Be encouraged by those who have experienced this kind of pain and grief. Email Pastor Jesse Knopp at jessek@faithjanesville.org for more information
  • Celbrate Recovery- The purpose of Celebrate Recovery® is to fellowship and celebrate Gods healing power in our lives through the eight recovery principles found in the beatitudes and Christ-centered 12 steps. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, victories, and hopes with one another.   • Mending the Soul- Mending the Soul provides a compassionate, informed approach to helping individuals heal from abuse, guiding them toward freedom and wholeness. This small group process offers a supportive environment for integrating past pain with the present, helping each person discover their redemptive story.   • Survivors for Our Savior-This is a support group for women who have had or are currently fighting cancer. Email Pastor Tim at pastortim@faithjanesville.org for more information.
  • Feed Your Soul- Every Tuesday from 4:30-6pm we hand out hot meals to anyone who needs them - no questions asked! Find out how to get free meals at Feed Your Soul.
