A testimony from Mary Miller:

I grew up in a family that attended church regularly and enjoyed close relationships with many families in that church for decades. Those growing up years provided a foundation for my faith. As a young adult and a newly married woman, I was asked many questions about what I believed. I realized that I did not believe the tenets of that denomination and wanted to grow in my relationship with Jesus. I pursued him in the ways that I knew, and also in new ways that he drew me to.

As I look back on my faith journey, I am so grateful for the power of the Holy Spirit who continued to guide and lead me. He has been so kind and patient. One of the milestones of my faith journey was when I inquired about how, where and when a person would know how to go on a mission trip. Heather came along side of me and taught me more about Jesus and how he wants us to live for him.

This ultimately led to going on a life-changing mission trip and my subsequent baptism. I have enjoyed her friendship for decades now. There have been seasons when we have been together often and seasons when we have been communicating more sparingly. But I’m grateful the Lord has brought her into my life to share the ups and downs through a Christian worldview that continues to anchor me and give me hope. I would encourage you, if you feel prompted to ask a question or to speak to someone to do so. That just might be an invitation for you to receive a gift in your life. It has been wonderful to have Heather “walk with me” which has inspired me to also become a disciplemaker and “walk with” others. God is so good!
